U-17 World Cup qualifier: Nigeria hammer South Africa 6-0

Nigeria U-17 Women’s team, the Flamingoes, humiliated their South African counterparts 6-0 on Saturday, in the first leg final round of the qualifiers for the FIFA U-17 World Cup later this year.

Bala Nkiyu’s girls scored all six goals in the first half. Rasheedat Ajibade netted four times, while Yetunde Fajobi helped herself with a brace.

The Flamingoes were less prolific in the second half, as they failed to add to the tally.

The return leg comes up in two weeks at the Makhulong Stadium in Tembisa and the winner over the two legs, will qualify for the tournament, which will be hosted by Jordan.
